Just some general rambling about me in an effort to let you know just "what you're dealing with". Born in New London, Connecticut 05-17-62 to a proud U.S. Navy family. Moved to Crawford County in 1972 after my father
retired after 20 years of military service to be near his mother (Cleveland, Ohio), and my mothers' parents (Nevada, Ohio).
Graduated Colonel Crawford High School (1980) while working at Gallagher's IGA grocery store. Worked a few different
jobs early - mid '80s - (Truka Chevrolet, Angelini Pontiac - Galion, Baja Boats), etc. Attended NCTC for a
couple of years until I figured I knew it all , during that time still working in the automotive industry, where I've been ever since. Still
working on the "School of Hard Knocks" degree like most of you. I met my future
wife, Julie in 1979 at Colonel Crawford's "Fun Night" when she was a Freshman. (I have since asked her
parents - "What were you thinking?!)Julie went right to college, receiving her Associates Degree in Nursing in 1986.
We dated on & off for 8 years, until we married in Leesville, Ohio in the fall of 1986. Julie spent
the majority of her nursing career at Crestline Hospital, and opened her own business, Crestline Massage Therapy in 2000.
She is also active in Colonel Crawfords' Company, a re-enactment group. We have two children.
Our son Jesse, who has made us proud with his outstanding academic achievements and outstanding work ethic, is currently a
freshman at the College of Wooster. He is still working weekends at Kroger, in Bucyrus while attending college. Jesse has
also earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is also an avid drag racer - amassing trophies at an alarming rate!
Our daughter, Jerri, is a freshman at Colonel Crawford High School. She is involved in a variety of scholastic activities,
particularly enjoying softball, band & music. If you have attended many of the basketball games at Crawford, you've
likely heard her sing the "Star Spangled Banner" prior to the game. Both children
are quite proficient with firearms, having received proper instruction with a certified instructor. They are experienced at
camping all year around, and are handy with outdoor skills. Both kids are periodically involved with Colonel Crawfords'
Company with Julie. I've been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for several years,
originally with Troop 317 in Crestline, and am currently an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 106, originally from
Sulphur Springs - now meeting at my business in Bucyrus. Our Troop has produced several Eagle Scouts, and we have
done a great deal of community service over the years.
Below is a partial list of community service projects which I have been involved with over the past 10 years: *Assisted
in building the playscape at the Crestline North School *Assisted in replacing the deck on the "Chili-Rib"
cookoff stage, Mansfield *Assisted in building elevated walkway in the woods at Wynford School *Built a large
deck at St. John's Lutheran Church, Leesville *Assisted in erecting a new building at Camp Avery Hand, Mansfield *Assisted in cleanup of storm damage at Camp Avery Hand, Mansfield *Revamped a good deal of the concession stand at
Colonel Crawford *Assisted in several years of food drives in Crestline *Revamped "Scout Cabin" in Crestline *Sandusky River Cleanup (couple of times), Bucyrus *Mohican River Cleanup, Mansfield *Assisted in placement/construction
of walkpath to ampitheatre, Camp Michael, Bucyrus I enjoy working...my wife sometimes thinks
a little too much.
